A unique pub experience in the heart of Moseley

An award-winning pub, bringing you an exciting drinking experience and a unique atmosphere in the heart of Moseley village.

Photos by William Arkle Marsden

Built in 1860, The Prince of Wales is steeped in history, but it’s the Marsden family that has transformed the venue into something else entirely. Boasting four bars, a heated marquee and even it’s own tiki bar, it’s easy to see how this vision led to us being awarded the coveted BII (British Institute of Innkeepers) award.

Like any good pub, our locals are key and are what bring character to this charming building, much like the wider Moseley area. That being said, we’re not limited to the same-old faces.

From a well-stocked bar carrying all the charm of a traditional pub, to a wine shed spanning the great grape regions & our infamous Mo-Tiki cocktail bar, we’ve truly have got something to suit all tastes.

FRONT BAR

Here’s where it all began, over 100 years ago. It’s been through some changes but the base has stood the test of time, serving cask conditioned ales within traditional pub surroundings. We’ve got ten hand pulls, drawing a variety of great beers. House options include Timothy Taylor’s Landlord, Oakham’s Bishop’s Farewell & Purity’s Mad Goose.

A wealth of top shelf whiskies, gins & rums stock our backbar, offering patrons a range of the finest spirits at a price that won’t break the bank.

MO-TIKI

Moseley’s worst kept secret, MO-TIKI, is our piece de resistance, our pride and joy and the feature that sets us apart from the rest. We’ve been bringing the fire and the flames to the masses for over ten years, and our bar has undergone many transformations to what stands before you today.

Taking influence from Fifties’ escapism culture, Mo-Tiki aims to bring a taste of Island life with Caribbean & polynesian influences, as well as the all important lifeline: RUM.

Looking for a fun way to jazz up a party? We also have a wide range of cocktail masterclasses, which can be tailored to your specific needs and start from £12.50 a head. Whatever the party, from corporate events to hen’s parties we can help! Just email bookingsprinceofwales@gmail.com for more info!
